PASTOR LESTER AND ROCHELLE BROWN
Rochelle and I were born and raised in Philadelphia just a few blocks away from each other in the West Oak Lane area of the city. We both were educated in the Philadelphia School System. On the surface, some would say our similarities end right there. I like going to the movies and Rochelle likes watching old episodes of Good Times and Martin (Really?) I was a “church boy” who went off to college at Gwynedd-Mercy College and graduated with a degree in Elementary/Special Education. And Rochelle attended church as a child, but didn’t finish college after having a child out of wedlock at 18 years old.
Yet God made a divine appointment for the two of us to meet always knowing that the perfect union of two imperfect people would birth Authentic Life Church.
While in college God began to develop a deep passion in me to see the lives of people significantly impacted by the principals of the bible; causing them to have a real relationship with God and not just religion.
Having grown up in church, I knew how easy it was to hear the Word and still not experience the life changing power of God. This passion lead me to Impacting Your World Christian Center in 1995, where I joined and served in the vision of Pastors Ray and Tracey Barnard for over 18 years. It was at Impacting Your World I met and married the love of my life, Rochelle. Together we have grown in our love for God, love for His word, and love for His people.
We have always sensed a call from God to start a church that would boldly teach people how to live the teachings of the bible and find their God-purpose. Together, our practical teaching style mixed with humor have caused many to realize they can show their scars or fully shine all while living the good life God desires them to have.
So here we are, the Lead Pastors of Authentic Life – a RELATABLE church, preaching a RELEVANT word to REAL people. Together with our two beautiful daughters Jasmine and Zoe we are committed to walking people through the process of being everything God purposed for them to be.
